I really like peanut butter cookies, and I really love almond butter in general, so I thought I would try marrying the two over the weekend.
The result? A mouthful of AWESOME.
The almond flavor was light, but the smooth peanut butter-like consistency of the almond butter kept the cookies moist and tasty.
I baked them in our new toaster oven that we got as an engagement gift from Alex’s godfather. I wanted to test out the baking abilities, and I was not disappointed.

Colors I consider neutral: black, white, gray, camel, and red.
If I wear them all at once, are they still considered neutral? Or just plain awesome? I’m going to go with awesome.
Sunglasses: Valentino; Blouse: little boutique in Woodland Hills; Earrings: Judith Ripka for QVC; Jeans: Bebe; Shoes: Marni; Bag: Chanel; Right hand ring: made by me; Impossibly smug look on my face: my clearly superior modeling skillz
Alex and I went to lunch with Alex’s mom at Mariposa in the Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. I literally inhaled the complimentary popover, and I’m pretty sure the 65-year-old-thin-and-young-looking-enough-to-model-for-Marc-Jacobs woman sitting at the table next to ours was judging me pretty hard. I really just wanted to ask her if I could have her popover that she clearly wasn’t going to eat.
A Saturday afternoon well spent.

I went to Fashion Night Out at Saks Fifth Avenue at the beginning of September, and they had a drawing for a pair of Jimmy Choo’s.
Which is CRAZY.
Harold photo bombed my picture.
They called on Wednesday, and I picked them up on Thursday, and then announced that I wanted to go somewhere to “break them in.” So last night, we went to Geisha House in Hollywood. I got glammed up for the occasion.
Dress: Mara Hoffman; Jacket: Tory Burch; Clutch: Kenneth Jay Lane; Shoes: Jimmy Choo; Earrings: Gifted Los Angeles; Necklaces: jewelry shop in Old Sacramento, Brooks Brothers, vendor on Venice Boardwalk; Bracelet: gift from future mother in law from her trip to Turkey; Watch: Cartier
I also got a super awesome manicure after work. Small pleasure on an easy Friday afternoon.
Did you do something particularly glamorous this weekend?

I know the ‘meat’ of this post is supposed to be about stripes. And when I say “supposed to be” I mean “I set it up that way with the title of this post,” but those are really just details. Right? Right!
I digress. What I am trying to say is, I love these shoes in ways I can’t really explain to you. I was at the Nordstrom’s friends and family sale with my future mother in law back in April, and I tried on these shoes along with another pair of Stuart Weitzmans. The other pair was a very cute, very sensible flat sandal, perfect for summer time and just so… sensible. So, naturally, I put these on and was all, “no f-ing contest.” I wanted both, but then looked at the price and blacked out. I woke up five hours later, clutching these shoes and half-empty bottle of rum in the food court.
Shirt: Anthropologie; Sweater: Forever 21; Necklace: small boutique in Encino; Jeans: 7 for all Mankind; Belt: Thrifted; Shoes: Stuart Weitzman
I mean, they just look good with everything. And they’re badass. I wear them to work all the time and one my clients saw them and, with a totally straight face, said: “I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of those babies.”
